Placenta-derived Exosomes

Exosomes, extracellular vesicles released by various cells, encapsulate a range of cellular components like DNA, mRNA, microRNA, proteins, lipids, amino acids, and metabolites. Playing a crucial role in intercellular communication and biological regulation, exosomes offer promise for therapeutic development.

Specifically, placenta-secreted exosomes are recognized for their vital roles in maintaining maternal-fetal tolerance and promoting fetus development during pregnancy. Isolated from the postpartum placenta, these exosomes (pExo) exhibit characteristic markers such as CD9, CD63, and CD81, containing diverse proteins and microRNAs involved in various biological pathways. pExo includes numerous cytokines and chemokines, fostering the proliferation of human primary cells from different organs and tissues.

Our pExo pipeline is undergoing pre-clinical evaluation for applications in regenerative and age-related diseases.
